Updates: Zappa’s ‘Belle Epoque’ Photoshoot for In-Store Magazines & Window Displays

Last year I worked on a photoshoot for Zappa's hair salon, styling the images for their Fleet branches Window Display and In-Store Magazines based on their 'Belle Epoque' theme. Based on a strong Helmut Newton theme, the salon created the striking hair & Make Up styles and I individually styled each model accordingly in bold, dynamic clothing that would evoke a strong 1940's/1950's mood. I used a lot of vintage items and accessories from my own collection, plus clothing from Ophelia Fancy to create unusual and structured looks based on a light/dark theme.

Updates: Commissioned Photoshoot with Miss Aniela

Earlier this year I worked on a wonderful Commissioned photoshoot with the amazing Miss Aniela, photographing a beautiful lady called Jane.

To celebrate the turning of her 40th birthday, Jane came up with some ideas surrounding images that she wanted to create as a special gift to herself. Collaborating with Miss Aniela photographer Natalie Dybisz, we all decided on several photographs that would express Jane's personality, interests and reflect where she was at this stage in her life. I stepped in to style the photographs and to help create the magical looks that Jane and Natalie had envisaged.

I really love this kind of work, as it allows me to connect with other people and bring out their positive aspects, whilst helping them to see themselves in a new light that is maybe repressed or hidden. Jane did a great job of posing and modeling for the photo's and I know that we took her out of her comfort zone. The photo's speak for themselves...an amazing woman at the prime of her life!

Updates: Apple & Eve Campaign for Miss Aniela

I recently styled a Fashion Campaign with photographer Miss Aniela for clothing label 'Apple & Eve'. We sourced a selection of props and accessories that would fit the brief to create a nostalgic English theme and chose two locations within Sussex. One location, an amazingly beautiful and decadent manor house, the other set amongst the narrow, cobbled streets of Lewes in East Sussex that both struck the right chord for the Brand.

The look of the final images needed to be rich, quirky and fresh so we used unexpected props such as an antique bike, apples, a teacup and aged vintage maps to create a flowing narrative throughout the photographs. The outfits were styled to reflect the atmospheric look and whimsical style desired by the brand. Using Miss Aniela's unmitigated photographic style with a High-Fashion twist, we created an unusual set of images that will be gracing stores soon!

Updates: The Sustainable Fashion Collective’s Launch on the 9th December 2010!

Three Brighton based Ethical businesses have joined together to create a unique Pop-Up shop in Brighton in time for Christmas. Called the ‘Sustainable Fashion Collective’, shoppers can expect cutting edge Eco Fashion, Fairtrade Fashion, plus Vintage Fashion, Homewares and Accessories from the likes of labels Lu Flux, Mimi Odette, Nancy Dee, Pieces of You, Tom Raffield and People Tree.

The three Brighton-based businesses Kolkata, Eco Btq and La Luminata all share a passion for Ethical Fashion and in their own individual work aim to highlight, educate and empower individuals to make sustainable choices within their wardrobe.

The boutique Shop will be launching to provide a beautiful selection of Eco and Ethical products to suit all budget ranges and cater to busy Christmas customers.

Updates: La Luminata Creates Eco Section for the L’Oreal Fashion Showcase Show

I traveled to Cardiff for the L'Oreal Fashion Showcase fashion show, on November 5th at the Coal Exchange Wales.

I was asked to create my own Eco section within the show called 'Illuminate' to reflect my work so far with La Luminata and highlight the great Eco brands and labels that I work with. I selected clothing, accessories and shoes from Rowan Joy, From Somewhere, Terra Plana and Rachel Darbourne jewelry for the twelve models that were set to walk the runway.

With illuminated led globes, bespoke colourful lighting, a fantastic band called Under the Driftwood Tree covering MIA's Paper Planes and a set of gorgeous girls to show off the clothing, the section was a success! I had a great time working on the Styling and Art Direction for this huge fashion show! Just don't ask what time the after-party carried on until...
